GIOLITTI

One strategy I’ve developed: no matter where you eat for dinner in Rome, skip dessert and head to Giolitti, it’s going to be better than anything in a restaurant (in my opinion). Tell them you want it “Porta Via” which means “Out The Door” and they will wrap everything beautifully so you can take it back to your hotel fling open the windows and eat it while gazing out at Rome.

Giolitti is one of my very favorite places in Rome. Especially for the Cassata Siciliana. These are the best I’ve had outside of Sicily. Most people line up for their gelato, and you should too, I am that one person who fails to get overly excited for gelato so I go for their pastries and I’m usually the only one in line for that. They are open super late too.
